2017 marks the 60th anniversary of Breitling’s highly successful Superocean Héritage II line – a collection dedicated to modern day explorers.
To celebrate, the brand presented a redesigned version of the timepiece with a new face to enthusiasts and experts at Baselworld 2017.
Merging a a timeless look reminiscent of the 1957 version of the watch with cutting edge technology, the Superocean Héritage first captured the hearts, minds and wrists of leisure divers as a premium professional diving watch.
Breitling has reworked the original design while maintaining its unique character. New developments include a new steel bezel with an ultra-hard, high-tech ceramic ring that is scratch proof and shock resistant. This new design gives the appearance of the bezel forming a seamless whole with the dial.
The unusual shape of the hands (triangular for hours and lozenge-like for minutes) along with cone shaped hour markers hark back to the classic 1957 design, while ensuring optimal legibility.
The Superocean Héritage II Chronographe 46 houses a self winding chronograph movement chronometer certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute. The Superocean Héritage II 42 and 46 are powered by a high precision, self winding movement endowed with a 70 hour power reserve.
The Superocean Héritage II is available in two sizes (42 and 46mm) and three colors (blue, black and bronze). In addition to leather, crocodile and rubber straps, an exclusive brand-new rubber-leather strap is available. Wearers can also select to have their watch fitted with the steel mesh bracelet – a throwback to the legendary 1957 model.
