DeepFlight Submarine Launches in Maldives

Looking for the perfect summer thrill? How about a submarine ride through some of the world’s most breathtaking marine landscapes?

The iconic Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru has just announced that they will be the first to offer private submarine excursions on board the DeepFlight Super Falcon 3S. Accompanied by a professional pilot, up to two guests can board the three-seater sub to explore the Maldives’ only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the vibrant Baa Atoll.

As you can see from her sleek lines, her innovative design is inspired by aircraft and her sculpted hull allows her to glide effortlessly through the water. Diving to a depth of 37 metres/120 feet, the sub treats passengers to unparalleled close-ups of incredible coral reefs, shoals of tropical fish, and playful dolphins, turtles and even sharks.

Each passenger has their own glass bubble which provides 360-degree views of the incredible underwater world without the need to get wet! These individual domes are both pressurised and air-conditioned to ensure that guests enjoy perfect comfort throughout their underwater experience of a lifetime.

Cleverly, the Super Falcon 3S is battery operated so there’s minimal noise disturbance for marine life and she never lands on the seabed to avoid unintentional damage to this precious ecosystem. While onboard guests can fully relax knowing that the sub’s every movement is constantly monitored by a dedicated surface team should any difficulties arise and if a loss of power does occur, she is designed to automatically float to the surface.

The submarine excursions last for one hour and cost USD 1500 per flight for up to two people. Children over the age of seven who are over 1.2 metres tall are welcome to participate in the activity. Reservations can be made directly with the Four Seasons Maldives.
