The Ten Hottest Yachts to See at FLIBS 2018

Now in its 59th year, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is set to bring together more than 1500 boats of all shapes and sizes. FLIBS is always popular platform for yards and designers to showcase their latest projects, and this year’s show is packed with thrilling debuts. Here’s our pick of the hottest yachts at FLIBS 2018 which are guaranteed to get your pulse racing and your hand reaching for your cheque book.

1. Numarine 32XP

Making her international debut at FLIBS2018, this compact 107 foot/32.64 metre explorer yacht from Numarine is ideal for exploring off the beaten track. During the build Numarine collaborated with Silent Line who specialise in noise and vibration reduction to minimise disruption to guests while under way. Her standout features include generous interior spaces, a dedicated gym on the main deck and storage capacity for two jet skis and a 9-metre RIB tender. You’ll also find five guest cabins and a full-beam owner’s suite which can receive up to 12 overnight guests.

2. Rossinavi Utopia IV

Measuring in at an impressive 207 feet/63 metres, Utopia has been called the world’s largest speedboat thanks to her sporty lines designed by Team For Design and powerful propulsion system. Built by Rossinavi and delivered in 2018, she boasts a top speed of 28 knots from her four 2600hp Rolls Royce diesel engines. Her length means she has plenty of space for rest and relaxation on board, including three swimming pools, vast beach club with a bar, and a full-beam master suite with its own private office and lounge. There are five additional suites for guests which allow her to host up to 12 overnight guests, and she can also accommodate a crew of 13 in her crew quarters.

3. Custom Line Vista Blue

This striking 125 foot/38 metre yacht is the result of the first collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski and Feretti Custom Line. She boasts an innovative design inspired by racing yachts which allows her to plane and achieve a top speed of 25 knots with ease. This performance does not come at the sacrifice of comfort, though, thanks to her chic beach house interior styling and the ability to convert her aft deck and main saloon into one large open space ideal for large parties and family gatherings. She has a total of 5 guest cabins which can accommodate 10 overnight guests.

4. Pershing 9X

Fast and fabulous, the 92 foot/28 metre Pershing 9X boasts a stunning exterior design by Fulvio de Simoni which brings to mind iconic supercars and classic speedboats. Powered by two 2638hp MTU 16V2000 M96L engines, she has a top speed of 42 knots which should be enough to satisfy even the most demanding of speed freaks. Her compact interior has style inputs from top Italian designers like Poltrona Frau and Antonio Luppi and can be configured with 3 or 4 guest cabins which can accommodate 6 or 8 overnight guests.

5. Ocean Alexander 90R

Defined by its signature almost-vertical prow and large windows, the 90R marks a new era for Ocean Alexander and has been developed in collaboration with the talented designer Evan Marshall. The 90 foot/27.43 metre yacht is expected to make a splash with her debut at FLIBS this year thanks to her remarkable looks and stunning interior spaces. Highlights include a full-beam master suite with floor-to-ceiling windows giving dramatic views, large skylounge and cosy lounge area on the foredeck. An additional VIP suite and two twin cabins on the lower deck allow her to receive up to eight overnight guests.

6. Overmarine Namaste

Making her first U.S. debut at FLIBS, the Namaste is the perfect expression of Italian design philosophy. She was launched by Overmarine two years ago to critical acclaim thanks to her sporty profile and comfortable interior and exterior spaces styled by Alberto Mancini which make her ideal for relaxed cruising. Enjoy a dip in the glass-bottomed spa pool on the foredeck, dine alfresco with family and friends or simply rest in her spacious owner’s suite which has its own private side balcony. In total Namaste can accommodate up to ten overnight guests in her two double, two twin and master cabins.

7. Abeking & Rasmussen Elandess

One of the largest yachts to grace this year’s show will be the 244 foot/74.5 metre beauty Elandess built by Abeking & Rasmussen. Launched earlier this year, this classically elegant superyacht has been designed by Peder Eidsgaard and has a strong focus on the social side of cruising. Highlights include the large pool and spacious sundeck and the surprising Nemo observation lounge with portholes set below the waterline which give guests a unique perspective on their voyage. As you might expect from such a large yacht, Elandess can accommodate up to 14 overnight guests in her seven luxurious cabins and her crew quarters have capacity for 24 crew members to take care of even the smallest details onboard.

8. SX88 San Lorenzo

Billed as a revolution in yacht design, this little beauty from San Lorenzo is a crossover yacht which combines luxury living with go-getter adventure cruising. The 89 foot/27 metre yacht boasts a sleek exterior design by Officina Italiana Design and a chic, loft-style interior courtesy of  Piero Lissoni. Designed with the Mediterranean lifestyle in mind, the SX88 offers ample outside space, room for up to eight overnight guests, and a light-filled interior ideal for long casual lunches and large gatherings. All of this doesn’t come at the expense of performance, though, as she still boasts an impressive top speed of 23 knots

9. Sunseeker 74 Sport Yacht

This sleek 74 foot/23 metre Sunseeker design is the ultimate toy for adrenaline junkies thanks to her 38 knot top speed, flybridge offering top views of the action, and neat cockpit door mechanism which allows her owner to transform her layout according to weather conditions. Her interior layout is also customisable and can be configured to create four guest cabins which can receive up to eight overnight guests.

10. Zeelander Z55

This “Rolls Royce on water” is sure to turn heads at FLIBS 2018 thanks to a top speed in excess of 42 knots and two powerful Volvo Penta IPS1350 engines. To minimise disruption to guests, Zeelander have worked with a consulting company to keep noise and vibrations to a minimum while under way. The fastest Zeelander built to date, the 180 foot Z55 is expected to be delivered to her new owner in the fall following her appearance at the Fort Lauderdale Show.
