With superb wineries, untouched white sand beaches, awe-inspiring glaciers and a rich Maori heritage, the Land of the Long White Cloud enchants each and every visitor who sets foot on her shores. Her two main islands are encircled by more than 15,000 km of coastline and a striking variety of landscapes, so the most comfortable way to really get to know New Zealand is onboard a luxury charter yacht like the 160.76 ft (49m) meter Endless Summer.
Built by Delta Marine in 2017, the sleek, classical exterior of this brand-new yacht was designed by the American luxury shipyard Christensen who were also responsible for the engineering. Crafted with the remotest of destinations in mind and boasting a range of 4000 nautical miles, Endless Summer is ideally suited to adventurous cruising around the South Island’s breathtaking fjords, whale-watching off Nelson or Kaikoura, or leisurely exploring the serene Bay of Islands.
Thanks to her large hull, all of the rooms on board are impressively spacious and her interior and exterior layouts offer numerous quiet spots where guests can relax. The expansive sundeck stretches over half of Endless Summer’s length and is ideal for entertaining large groups with a substantial bar, barbeque and jacuzzi which is surrounded by a comfortable sunbathing area.
For those who prefer more intimate gatherings, ahead of the bridge is a smaller deck perfect for romantic candlelit dinners or relaxing with close family members while you enjoy stunning views of misty fjords or secluded Kiwi islands.
Guest accomodation is taken care of with six comfortable cabins which can sleep up to 12. Occupying the whole width of the yacht, the master suite is the most sumptuous with large portholes on either side to create a light, airy space. The remaining guest cabins consist of a VIP suite, two double cabins, a twin cabin which can be converted into a double cabin and a single cabin with a pullman bed. The crew quarters can sleep up to nine to ensure a smooth and discrete service throughout the charter.
Throughout the interior spaces the VARO styling team have achieved a warm and welcoming ambience by combining bamboo and tropical African sapele wood with sumptuous soft fabrics. In the striking main saloon and formal dining area, the designers choose to take the energy up a notch with contrasting dark Peruvian walnut and light neutral furnishings accented with bright patterns. The more-relaxed upper saloon is equipped with a large TV screen and plenty of comfortable sofas ideal for movie nights.
Any New Zealand charter experience would be incomplete without a visit to some of New Zealand’s most famous wineries in Waiheke Island, Marlborough or Martinborough. Luckily, Endless Summer is equipped with a custom-built wine cellar where you can safely store your precious Pinot Noirs and Sauvignon Blancs on your return. The climate-controlled cellar is also equipped with a carefully-chosen selection of fine wines to enjoy alongside sensational New Zealand dishes like roast lamb, word-class oysters from Bluff or even traditionally-cooked Maori hāngi meats.
Thrill-seekers and energetic families are also taken care of with a vast selection of water toys. Endless Summer’s collection includes diving gear, three jet skis, paddleboards, Seabobs and surfboards as well as an inflatable toys and large slide. She also has a drone for those who want to capture on film the unforgettable scenery and wild natural beauty of their surroundings.
Although the peak season for New Zealand yacht charter is from December to April, increasingly yachts are available year-round thanks to relatively mild winters on the North Island and the enchanting possibilities of enjoying the snow season on the cooler South Island. Endless Summer is available for charter year-round in New Zealand and the South Pacific from $250,000 (€204,000) per week plus expenses.
