The opportunity to view the world’s finest charter yachts will again take place this Dec. 4-10 at Nelson’s Dockyard Marina in English Harbour, the Falmouth Harbour Marina, and the Antigua Yacht Club Marina, with shuttle service connecting the marinas with service operating during show hours, and transporting guests back to hotels in English Harbour and Falmouth in the evening. The show is open daily from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, with a lunch hour scheduled from 12:30pm to 1:30 pm. An on-water sail day is scheduled for Dec. 9, offering invited brokers the chance to experience certain yachts underway, embarking on a “micro-charter” around Antiqua’s coast.
Sailing yachts on display include the iconic Perini Navi sailing yacht Maltese Falcon, and the luxurious Alloy sailing yacht Drumbeat, and many others suited to Caribbean bluewater cruising. Motor yachts on display include Christensen Shipyards’ refined Chasseur, the beautifully refitted Coral Ocean, the active gourmet appeal of Axioma, the timeless Lürssen Huntress, and the classic, Corsair-inspired 2008 90-meter Nero.
A total of 89 yachts will be on display, ranging from both motor and sailing catamarans, to explorer yachts, replicas, and contemporary charter yachts with top of industry features. In addition, 193 vendors will exhibit wares at the show, displaying products and services affiliated with the yachting lifestyle.
Dec. 10 is a beach activity day for crew, brokers, press, and vendors. Vendor and press nights are also scheduled for the show. A chef’s culinary contest will pit the talents of on board chefs dividing them into three length categories, judged on presentation of a surf & turf luncheon, while stewards and stewardesses can compete in a tablescaping competition in complement to the surf & turf luncheon. Awards will be presented Thurs., Dec. 8, at 5:30 at The Admiral’s Inn, Nelson’s Dockyard.
