The principality of Monaco, polished to perfection, is well-prepared to again host the world’s most anticipated superyacht event, The Monaco Yacht Show. Officially opening on Fri., Sept. 27, 2017, the four-day show is expecting 34,000 guests, 125 superyachts, and 580 luxury goods exhibitors embracing the superyacht lifestyle. Opening with pre-show events on the 26th, and closing to the sound of superyacht horns blowing in concert, there is simply no equal to this iconic yachting industry celebration.
Pre-Show Events, Thur., Sept. 26
Preliminary events on Thursday include the Monaco Yacht Summit, followed by a glorious gala. Returning for its second year, the Monaco Yacht Summit presents the opportunity for potential superyacht owners, charterers, and their representatives to hear five table talks directed by respected leaders of the industry. Held at Le Méridien Beach Plaza Hotel, this intimate format provides critical information with regard to superyacht transactions. The conversation will dive deep into essentials, offering insider details to guide those new to yachting toward a successful purchase. Attendance is complimentary but limited to a pre-approved list through contact with email@example.com.
The Inaugural Gala ceremony Thursday evening welcomes invitees to the magical Salle Belle Epoque ballroom and terraces at Monaco’s beautiful Hôtel Hermitage. During the event, the fourth edition of the Monaco Yacht Show Superyacht Awards will recognize excellence in four categories. The Finest New Superyacht, the Best Exterior Design, the Best Interior Design, and the MYS/RINA Award will bestow additional cachet on an elite group of debut superyachts.
A particularly stunning year for new superyacht launches, an exciting array ranging from the 92-meter Feadship motor yacht Aquarius to the 60-meter Perini Navi sailing yacht Seven are tucked into the glittering harbor at Port Hercules. From exciting new designs to traditional classic majesty, dramatic and powerful profiles provide plenty of choice in exterior lines, interior designs, and at-sea options. The Starboard Lounge
The posh new facilities at the Monaco Yacht Show lounge, Starboard, reveal the all-new lounge bar, restaurant, terrace, business center, press center, and meeting rooms with Wi-Fi, joined by brilliant exhibits from partners Sabrina Monte-Carlo, Dassault Aviation, Paola Lenti, Lufthansa, Lanson Champagne, Monaco Marine, and media partners Dockwalk and Superyacht News. Convenient to all areas of the show, the lounge is perfect for a dockside bite, a celebratory cocktail, or a brief respite overlooking the harbor.
Ulysse Nardin ‘Only Watch’ Exhibit
Official nine-year sponsor of the Monaco Yacht Show, Ulysse Nardin again offers the first peek at the 2017 tour of timepieces for the Only Watch event. Only Watch is a biennial charity auction of the world’s most exclusive timepieces from revered watch brands. Destined to benefit research toward Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, this is the first of a ten-leg collection tour prior to the auction.
Ulysse Nardin will also launch a new, limited edition watch in the Monaco timepiece collection, successfully continuing its connections to both the Monaco Yacht Show and the sea. Succinctly described by Ulysse Nardin CEO Patrik P. Hoffmann, “The MYS offers Ulysse Nardin the perfect environment to highlight its know-how, power of innovation and DNA of the Sea.” With production limited to only 100 watches, the watch will likely see high demand.
The Sapphire Experience
No one knows how to treat a VIP guest like Monaco, and the Sapphire Experience at the Monaco Yacht Show offers definitive proof. Choose from one of two Sapphire Experience levels to smooth the way for first-time guests, laying out the red carpet with private visits to the show’s top superyachts, a tour of Monaco Bay by VIP boat, attendance at the Monaco Yacht Summit, the Inaugural Gala, evening receptions by the show’s most prestigious partners, lunch at the official restaurant, and a long list of additional perks. Contact Séverine Sciortino, Private Client Manager of the Monaco Yacht Show, firstname.lastname@example.org, to arrange details.
Toys and Tenders
Dramatic advances in submersible vessels abound at this year’s show. Stunning capabilities and advanced technologies from U-Boat Worx, Deep Flight, Triton, Seamagine, and GSE Trieste are guaranteed to deliver smiles and wonder. Posh tenders built from gorgeous woods and streamlined contemporary designs raise the bar on everything from speed and luxury to innovative features and comfort for ship to shore shuttles.
Finally, just in case the stunning features of the superyachts aren’t sufficient, the toy section at this year’s show is simply astonishing. The giant inflatables, exciting towables, and unique water play items on display add an extra dimension to every superyacht.
The Social Scene
The long list of exclusive social events offers many opportunities to enjoy the company of those with a passion for yachting. Major yacht builders and sponsors throw lavish parties scheduled throughout the show. Last year’s Elton John performance at the Ferretti Group and Yacht Club de Monaco fête auctioned off a beautiful Riva for charity while showing off Ferretti’s newest lines at the Private Preview. Similar festivities dot the calendar again this year, with delightful surprises in store. Hope to see you in Monaco!
