Three Superyachts Honored at the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show

The Superyacht Award ceremony was held at Le Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel in Monte Carlo on the eve before the start of the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show.

With over 400 distinguished yachting industry guests in attendance, three recently launched yachts taking part in the Monaco Show were honored in 4 different categories.

Dutch shipyard Heesen came away with the Rina Award for their newly launched 49.8m M/Y Home. The title is awarded to the most environmentally friendly vessel displayed at the show.

Heesen’s M/Y Home | 49.8m | launched 2017

Home is the first Fast Displacement motor yacht equipped with hybrid propulsion. Built with two 127kw water-cooled DC electric shaft motors, this vessel runs quieter and emits lower vibration levels. Fuel efficiency numbers come in at an impressive 98 litres per hour when traveling 12 knots. Even more noteworthy is the 45 litres per hour consumption when traveling at 10 knots in hybrid mode. The Fast Displacement Hull form and the attention to weight reduction all contribute towards achieving these impressive results.

The two MTU 12v 2000 M51 (600kW each) engines propelling the 499 Ton vessel are smaller than what would normally be expected for a yacht this size.

Sanlorenzo M/Y Seven Sins | 52m | Interior

Next, the award for Best Interior Design went to Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo for their 52m M/Y Seven Sins. The interior is described as unusually large with a timeless elegance. Credit was given for the technical ingenuity of the floodable garage area which converts to a beach area with beautiful lounge.

Oceanco 110m M/Y Jubilee | Launched 2017

Oceanco shipyard came away with two awards for the highly anticipated 110m M/Y Jubilee.

The impressive project earned the Exterior Design award and the Finest New Super Yacht award. Her profile is as striking and it is distinctive. The exterior profile was conceived by Lobanov Design. With progressively long horizontal blue lines, Jubilee is a sight to see. If one could get a bird’s eye view, it would reveal the presence of a large pool deck with built in aquarium on the aft and a helicopter pad up forward on the bow.

The interior designed by Sam Sorgiovanni is described as being both spacious and rich with room to accommodate up to 30 guests in 15 staterooms. The owner’s suite comes complete with its own entirely private deck.
