The Monaco Yacht Show Style Guide

The Monaco Yacht Show, set in Port Hercules against the dramatic and opulent Monaco, is the epitome of luxury. The largest European in-water display of its kind. Here, the yachting industry leaders and experts feature the biggest most impressive superyachts with award-winning designs. Attracting affluent enthusiasts from all over the world, the four-day event can only be seen as one of the world’s most anticipated elite events.

This September, the show is set to welcome a world-class fleet of over 100 superyachts, so what better way to be ready for the occasion than with the right style too? To take you seamlessly from yacht to yacht, the Lela Rose Ruffled Printed Cotton Maxi Dress features a flowing silhouette for a dramatic yet whimsical finish. Breathable and comfortable the design is fluid yet feminine whether you choose to wear it day or night during the MYS. With a lot of walking involved during the four-day extravaganza, you can’t go wrong with a desert-inspired sandal. The Ahmed Flats by Carrie Forbes are handmade in Morocco and feature two woven straps across the front for ultimate comfort and wearability.

Keep your look sleek and sharp with the Thierry Lasry Demony Acetate Cat-Eye Sunglasses. Created with a vintage cat-eye shape and light lenses ideal for the Mediterranean backdrop. However, with 100% UV protection, you needn’t worry about sunlight. Regardless of the season in Southern Europe, if the sun shines, sunnies are a must.

To kick off the fun and games, the MYS opens with the Inaugural Gala Event. Brush shoulders here with celebrities, VIP guests and CEOs of luxury partners. Naturally, an easy route to take is black tie, but that doesn’t mean you need to opt for all black. The White cape-effect silk-satin gown by Brandon Maxwell says summer elegance that doesn’t scream try-hard. Match yours with a pair of the Bottega Veneta Dream-Knotted Leather Sandals in ice blue. Set on a square-footbed with a slender heel the designs are ideal for an evening ensemble in the Med. Finish off your look with the Rosantica Minerva Crystal Embellished bucket bag for a textured touch of elegance.

While the show is set around the boldest yachts around, exhibitors from prestigious car brands, private jets and helicopters are also in attendance, so if your eye is on more than the prize, buckle up. Start your look off with the Onia Josh Linen Polo shirt to look effortlessly put together and keep you cool. Following suit with a relaxed and comfortable look, the Givenchy Cady Slim Leg Pants have a relaxed silhouette ideal for a seaside-ensemble to take you around the many exhibitions. A timepiece on a man can go just as noticed as a pair of earrings can on a woman. Pick a watch that can go seamlessly from day to night, much like the Cartier Santos Dumont. With a classic design, the style today has since become an iconic choice amongst men of all ages that stands robust yet elegant for an event just as predominant as the MYS.

No gala event or superyacht party is complete without a killer look (and a bunch of celebrities and world-renowned names). Naturally even the most affluent feel privileged to be in attendance on a yacht in the marina of Monaco. So make sure you pull up in your best suit first with the Ralph Lauren Exclusive Douglas Shawl Collar Tuxedo. Finished with a contemporary silhouette the cut is classic and refined, and what you’d expect to see on the shoulders at an event as elegant as this. Pair it with a crisp white shirt and a pair of Saltby Leather Monk Straps by Church’s. Made with a gunmetal-tone the earthy design reflects a sophisticated style for the modern man.
