Renowned for the refurbishment of the Hotel Montalembert in Paris in 1988, award-winning Christian Liaigre opened his design studio in 1985 and his first showroom in Paris two years later.
His portfolio has amassed a generous number of notable design projects hailing his new style of modernism to include the private residences for Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, Rupert Murdoch, Kenzo and Bryan Adams as well as hotels such as the New York’s Mercer Hotel and London Selfridge’s department store.
Today, together with his strong-hold team the Liaigre Maison brand name has spread to 25 showrooms worldwide in key cities like London, Bangkok, Singapore, New York and St Barthelemy.
Involved in some of the greatest yacht designs and a keen sailor himself, Liaigre designed the interior of a distinguished list of sailing and super yachts to include S/Y Vertigo and S/Y Seahawk along with M/Y Rosehearty and M/Y Spirit.
Combining the use of space and light, based on local culture, traditions, choice of materials and a deep-rooted passion for art and crafts, Christian Liaigre believes in combining a certain modesty with great elegance.
Recurring stylistic inspirations in his refined, high quality work are a fusion of leathers, dark woods and a luxurious cream, brown and grey palette that offer a stylish and timeless rendering.
Christian Liaigre furniture and lighting in turn are produced according to an artisanal method of production, embossed or stamped with the company logo.
