With a strong track record in both yacht and private jet interior design, former artistic director of Pierre Cardin, Philippe Starck is known as one of the most famous and diverse designers in the world. He has turned his hand to many disciplines since he launched his career in the 1980s with Starck Product known later on as Ubik, but his work is initially known for his interior, product, industrial and architectural design including furniture.
A true legend in the super yacht industry, it is the superyacht fleet that he has worked on that truly stands out. As a forward-thinker, Philippe is responsible for the designs of M/Y A, Venus and Senses, and also has a long history of collaborations in the lifestyle industry. A reputation for innovation has led Philippe to get involved with high-tech gadgets, perfume, Champagne, smartphone, furniture, fashion and interiors to name but a few.
Notable projects in his heyday include the refurbishment of the president’s private apartments at the Elysée in 1983 along with the design of Café Costes. The Alhondiga in Bilbao, Port Adriano, Asahi Beer Hall in Tokyo and the Sanderson Hotel are other pioneering examples.
