Pagani has undoubtedly become the new poster car for automotive enthusiasts around the world, and for good reason. Since the Zonda they have produced various versions each more extreme than the previous, with the introduction of the Huayra they were able to unlock a plethora of options to provide unique vehicles. This point is clearly proven with the new Huayra BC, the ‘BC’ suffix honors the late Benny Caiola, a car enthusiast and friend of Horacio Pagani who purchased the builder’s first automobile.

The Huayra BC is Pagani’s most powerful road car to date. The engine in the BC is the familiar AMG-sourced 6.0-litre V12 bi-turbo, however the power and torque figures have been bumped up to now produce 789 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque. This power is sent through a LeMans protoype drive shaft pushing the rear wheels. The transmission in the BC is a new seven-speed Xtrac automated manual transmission with new electro-hydraulic actuation and carbon-fiber synchronizers.

The exhaust system has also seen a revamp and is now titanium based saving 7.1 kg as compared to the standard pipes. The braking for the BC has also been improved with the installation of new carbon ceramic six piston brakes at the front and four pistons at the rear, all provided by Brembo. This shaves nearly 40 percent weight off the standard brakes that are used in the normal Huayra. Further weight saving was done with the wheels as well with forged APP wheels which are 9kg lighter. Suspension uprights and wishbones are made from Avional – an aeronautical grade aluminum that weighs 25 per cent less than regular aluminum alloys.

The aerodynamics have also changed for the BC, with a complete focus towards increasing the maximum downforce, only the roof panel is similar to the normal Huayra otherwise everything else has changed. The most obvious change would be the added rear wing that resembles that of a something on the Batmobile. There is a multitude of intakes and aero channeling done to help increase the air flow over the car and push it into the road.

The interior of the Huayra BC is something special as well. The use of deep red leather, anthracite suede and matt carbon fiber mingle with gloss-black highlights coupled with the naked gear linkage makes the Huayra’s interiors one of the best in the current hypercar market.

The Huayra BC might be mistaken for being an uncontrollable beast to drive, however this couldn’t be further from the truth. There are three driving modes that can be used for through access from the steering wheel, Comfort, Sport and Race – are available, and you can shift gears with the stick or paddles on the wheel.

Pagani has amped up its game and has become the car manufacturer for the ultra-rich. The Huayra BC is being produced in extremely limited numbers, 20 units total, and all have been sold with a price tag of $2.5 million. This is car is really something special.
