Automobili Lamborghini introduced its newest offering the Lamborghini Centenario at the 2016 International Geneva Motor Show. The model honors the 100th anniversary of the birth of the founder and will be limited to just 40 cars being produced. Centenario will have 20 coupe versions and 20 roadster versions, all of which are already pre-sold at a price in the range of 2 Million Euros ($2.25m).

The USP of the car is the combination of a futuristic design with the various aspects that Lamborghini is known for. With a highly aerodynamic design the car emphasizes more on functionality based designing. The car is 4.92m (15ft) long and the height is around 1.14m (3.74ft). Lamborghini Centenario feels a lot of like the racing cars from the era gone by with big air scoops in the front bonnet. Air intake is from the front of the car thus enabling greater down force towards the front as well.

A Powerful Performer

While the car is great too look at it is even better with the performance. The V12 engine delivers 770 hp which is enough to power the car from 0-100 is just 2.8 seconds. In fact, you can accelerate from 0-300 kmph (186mph) in 23.5 seconds. The car has a top speed of 350 kmph and can brake from a speed of 100 kmph to a stand-still position in just 30 meters. With the use of carbon fiber the overall body weight of the car is pretty low at 1520 kgs (3,351lbs) which enable a good weight to power ratio of 1.97 kgs/hp.

Drive Ease

The car is a permanent 4-wheel drive and is equipped with the latest Lamborghini rear wheel steering system. It has a smaller turning radius at lower speeds due to the opposite steering and rear wheel directions, however at higher speeds the steering and rear wheels turn in the same direction thus offering more stability and better vehicle control as well.

The Centenario has magneto rheological suspension and Lamborghini Dynamic Steering that ensure that the driver has a great driving experience with the car. It is very responsive and great to drive at low as well as high speeds.

Interiors & Technology

While the Lamborghini is a supercar it is not behind on luxury either. The seats can be customized depending on the buyer’s requirements. A good part of the interiors has seamless stitching and the inner panels of the doors are made from carbon fiber and Alcantara.

The car also offers a lot of technology with satellite navigations, a 10 inch touch screen to manage important functions and a fully equipped infotainment system as well.

On the whole, the Lamborghini Centenario is a car that combines a lot of futuristic design and functions to the stand-out aspects that Lamborghini offers as a supercar brand.
