Tesla is already light years ahead of most competitors when it comes to creating electric cars for the coming generations. Now, with its new upgrades and updates the Tesla Model S P100D with ludicrous mode has gone a step further. With the new 100 kWh battery, the car has become the third fastest car in the world. It can power from 0-60 MPH in just 2.5 seconds.

There is also a reasonable amount of addition to the EPA, from the previous 294 miles, the car can now deliver nearly 310 miles with the new battery. This is an addition of nearly 7%. The 100 kWh battery is currently limited to the Tesla S P100D with ludicrous mode option only!

The overall driving terrain of the vehicle remains the same though there have been minor upgrades to the wiring frame and other parts of the car. However a major contribution to the increased acceleration can be attributed to the enhanced battery pack. The company has been pretty upbeat about the enhancement as it will allow customers to have a better day to day driving experience especially on the highways. Since the car speed was limited by the power, this enhancement will help overcome the issue for sure.

With all the enhancements the cost is definitely a notch higher than the previous versions but at $134,500, the car is definitely something that a lot of enthusiasts with cherish to have.

It is estimated that the initial production will be of around 200 packs weekly which will gradually increase. Tesla is also giving options to buyers who have not yet taken the deliveries of their P90D models to upgrade to P100D for $10,000 whereas existing owners of P90D can replace the battery for $20,000.

Tesla also is bringing the premium seating option to the Model S, a feature which is currently only available with all model X cars. With Tesla Model S P100D with Ludicrous mode, Tesla is surely venturing into a territory which is almost alien. It is definitely a big step in creating a next generation super car. Tesla has been able to successfully upgrade from 75 kWh to 90 kWh to 100 kWh in a matter of a couple of years which is a significant achievement for sure!
