Brand-new on the charter market is the spectacular 290.4ft (89m) Barbara whose striking design was awarded the 2018 Judges Commendation for Best Interior Design at the BI Design & Innovation Awards. Built by visionary superyacht builder Oceanco in 2017, Barbara is an inspired fusion of fabulously opulent design, breezy outdoor living and exceptional amenities certain to impress even the most demanding of charter guests.
Thanks to her generous size, Barbara is packed full of amenities and activities to please everyone from energetic kids to adults seeking to relax and recharge the batteries. Adrenaline junkies can spend hours playing with her vast collection of water toys which includes jetskis, paddleboards, ocean kayaks, wakeboards and windsurfers, to name just a few. There’s also a wide selection of kid-friendly options like inflatables, towables and seabobs.
After playtime is over, guests can relax and lounge by her large upper deck jacuzzi, catch some rays on her panoramic sundeck or enjoy a dip in the sea and a cocktail or two right by the ocean on her spacious swim platform. When you’re finally ready to explore further afield, let her crew whisk you away on one of her two stylish 9.8m Vikal tenders to discover chic Mediterranean beach towns or secluded island coves.
Barbara’s award-winning exterior and interior styling is the work of Sam Sorgiovanni who is based in Perth, Western Australia. Sorgiovanni has brilliantly fused opulent, luxurious interiors with bright and breezy outdoor spaces inspired by the easy-going beach culture of his native Australia.
Big open spaces are the signature style here, with the uncluttered sundeck offering plenty of privacy and chilled out vibes for those looking for a relaxed charter experience. This space can also be converted into an outdoor cinema for your own private movie nights under the stars. Sorgiovanni has kept Barbara’s exterior aesthetic lean and clean, letting nature speak for herself with light natural wood furniture and cream and white furnishings throughout which allow guests to focus on the stunning ocean views.
As you step inside Sorgiovanni kicks things up a gear with a shift to a more luxurious aesthetic. Beautiful natural wood ceilings, panels and columns are complemented by richer furnishings and darker pops of color in the form of statement art pieces and cushions in her main lounge space. This is also where you’ll find the inside dining area which can seat up to 14 for sumptuous formal dinners with family and friends. The centerpiece of the room is a spectacular aquarium that has been custom-designed to mimic a natural reef teeming with aquatic life.
Tucked away on the lower deck is a precious surprise, a dedicated spa area that has its own massage room which can be configured for couples massages as well as a beauty treatment room for manis, pedis or hair styling. Completing the wellbeing amenities is a gym on the upper deck which boasts amazing views to keep you motivated during your morning fitness routine. This fully-equipped space is styled in Barbara’s typical mixture of opulence and natural touches with ample use of patterned woods.
When it’s time to get some downtime, guests will appreciate Barbara’s comfortable array of seven cabins which can receive up to twelve overnight guests. Most of the accommodation is found on the main deck where guests can choose between four generous double cabins and a full-beam VIP suite which boasts a dedicated private lounge. There is also an additional double cabin on the upper deck which is ideal for accommodating personal staff such as a nanny, butler or PA.
Another very special feature of Barbara’s expansive layout is the remarkable master suite which is set on its own private deck. This luxurious suite of rooms is ideal for an extended stay onboard thanks to the large lounge with impressive ocean views, his-and-hers wardrobes and gorgeous bathroom. The master bedroom itself is full-beam and the lounge boasts private port and starboard fold-out balconies which make the ideal spot for simply watching the world go by and enjoying a moment or two of quiet.
Barbara is also equipped with comfortable crew quarters on her lower deck which can accommodate up to 26 crew members for a fuss-free charter experience.
Barbara is available to charter through Burgess Yachts from US$895,000 (€1,000,000) per week plus expenses.
