That is what CEO of Dunya Yachts, Sedat Ergun, did with Axioma, the first superyacht to come out of the Turkish yards owned by Ergun’s family. The result was a remarkable, 72-meter/236-foot superyacht that drew an eager and appreciative crowd at the 2013 Monaco Yacht Show.
Previously engaged in civil engineering, Ergun knew what he did not know. To ensure this premiere build would make its mark, he enlisted a revered and respected team that simply could not fail. Trusting his own good judgement, it proved a sound strategy on all accounts. Ergun collected names like Sterling Scott for exterior design, the late Alberto Pinto for interior design, O. Tanju Kalaycioglu for naval architecture, Austria’s LIST for interior joinery, Van Cappellen for sound and vibration, Quantum for stabilizers, and Raytheon for navigation. Adding an extensive list of amenities prepared Axioma well for her role as a trendsetting icon.
Axioma carries 12 guests in 6 luxurious cabins, served by 20 crew. The owner’s suite is expansive, with oversize windows that enlist fabulous views. Located on its own deck, a handsome office allows for business with privacy, along with equally private terrace, Jacuzzi, and media room. Five additional double cabins, two of which convert to twins, exude the same luxuries, showcasing sumptuous linens, marble baths, oval tubs, and spacious configurations.

The main deck features a large pool with glass wall aft. The bridge deck boasts a fully-equipped Technogym with floor-to-ceiling sea views and dramatic inlaid wood floor. A steam room and massage rooms connect for a wellness deck that pleases and pampers, post workout. The sun deck has a large spa pool rimmed with sun pads. Equipped with a swim-up bar, the views from everywhere on the deck are exceptional. The bar also sports a barbecue grill, ready to host a gracious summer event.
A round dining table with seating for 14 offers al fresco dining, overlooking the infinity pool, from a perfect perch. On the lower deck, a 3D cinema awaits, with cushy, reclining loungers. The beach club has an RYA water sports center and is stocked with a store of Sea Doos, kayaks, paddle boards, wakeboards, water skis, dive equipment, and an inflatable water slide. Two tenders with ample horsepower are ready to assist with any water-based activities.
A central glass lift is wrapped with a light wood stair, creating a dramatic entry to the .
