Debuting at the 2014 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the 140 foot Benetti Veloce is the flagship yacht of the Benetti Fast Displacement series. Cutting edge technology and world class design define the Benetti Veloce, and a new D2P (Displacement to Planing) hull conceived by Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture Studio and the Azimut Benetti Research and Development Center allows for unprecedented levels of performance and comfort. Long-time Benetti enthusiasts will appreciate this peerless yacht as much as first time boat owners.
The Benetti Veloce is powered by two MTU 12V 4000 M93L 3500 mhp engines, the largest engine ever to be installed at the famed Viareggio Benetti shipyard. The state of the art D2P hull ensures a comfortable ride and considerable energy savings, despite the immense power. While the cruising speed sits at 12 knots, the ride is just as smooth at 20 knots and above.
The design, layout and furnishings of the Benetti Veloce pick up where the powerful engine and cutting edge hull leave off. The interior design was conceived by the British RWD-Redman Whiteley Dixon, and renowned designer Stefano Righini left his mark on the exterior. The light gray TAY and slate gray TABU woods provide a sleek look to the flooring, while stainless steel features with a satin finish mingle with decorative accents that have an elegant silver lacquer coat.
The enormous sun deck – a gargantuan 77 square meters – offers a terrace with a sea view and a central pool that approaches a large living area complete with an extended linear bar. The upper deck includes a second pool, an extensive relaxation area, living area and an internal sky-lounge. Two large sunbeds offer poolside luxury, and the sofa and coffee table in the living area provide complete privacy.
The main deck stands out for its sprawling gym, which occupies the entire width of the hull. A suite of Technogym Personal gym equipment offers the latest in world class fitness gear, and a side terrace provides panoramic sea views along with natural light and airflow. An accompanying massage area rounds out one of the most exciting spaces on the yacht. A large dining area and an extensive living area are also featured on the main deck, and the integration of indoor and outdoor environments – a feature throughout the boat – is exceptional.
The sleeping areas feature five cabins, with an expansive master stateroom leading the way. Four crew cabins sit at the far end of the bow, and a convivial beach club is accessible by a double flight of stairs. The beach area features a central bar that spans the entire length of the bulkhead. A nearby garage is capable of housing two tenders.
As yacht enthusiasts from around the world look forward to the Veloce’s imminent launch, the growing anticipation is palpable. Few yachts are able to wed performance with comfort, and the Benetti Veloce does just that.
