On Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, the ShowBoats Design Awards judges panel honored Feadship’s 46m semi displacement yacht, Como, with three of their coveted golden Neptune statuettes. Awarded one each for Naval Architecture, Exterior Design and Styling, and Interior Design, the spotlight landed on Como for all the right reasons.
Como’s naval architecture, by Ed Dubois, was pronounced stellar by the judges for efficiency of operation and excellent seakeeping qualities. Designed with a favorable displacement to length ratio, Como minimizes wake, turning smoothly and quickly.
The Exterior Design and Styling Award for the sub-500GT further underscored superiority, as the judges found Como to be without flaw or failure in either form or function. Judges also found the color palette exceptionally appealing.
Como received the Interior Design Award for motor yachts below 500 GT for masculine styling and versatile deck plans that effortlessly transition indoor and outdoor spaces by sliding windows and glass panels. Massive glass all around, and a long list of luxurious features earn Como legendary status as a fabulous yacht for entertaining.
The awards are particularly valued in the industry as the judges are comprised of an independent panel. Owners, senior crew, industry leaders in naval architecture, and designers and stylists selected from across all industries, even those outside marine design, collaborate to select the best of the best in just a handful of categories.
