ISA Yachts’ latest offering is the Yara, a 44 meter long fast-displacement superyacht designed to give its passengers the sensation of being one with the sea. From its sweeping S curves to its glass bulwarks and full height windows, the Yara was conceived to provide panoramic views, wide-open spaces and thrilling extravagance.
The ship is the combined vision of Italy-based ISA Yachts, Omega Architects and Van Oossanen Naval Architects. Starting with the tradition of ISA Yacht’s fast, powerful boats, the designers added new features to increase the amount of usable space by 50% and create a flexible environment that can be adapted to a variety of needs: business or pleasure, adventure or relaxation, intimate gatherings or large parties. As inspiration, they took the name Yara, a beautiful nymph from Brazilian legend who lured men into the water. The finished design does just that.
The owner’s suite is a spacious, light-filled cabin with double bathrooms. Guests have their pick of two twin and two VIP cabins that are served by a central round staircase. The captain and crew have their own dedicated cabins and galley situated forward on the lower deck. Aft on the lower deck is a beach club housing a sauna, restroom and service counter, a concept derived from the traditional Russian banya.
The dining area seats ten, with additional space available in the adjoining saloon. The combined area was designed to be used as either an interior or exterior space. A sliding glass-door system can close off the lounge to create individual private spaces or provide protection from the weather. The saloon ends with sun beds and a jacuzzi placed flush with the deck for a luxurious experience looking out across the water. Up top, the sundeck offers an uninterrupted 360º view, with a bar and pop-up TV in the forward lounge and a space for sunbathing aft.
The Yara also boasts impressive performance. Its all-aluminum hull has a draft of seven feet for navigating shallow routes. It reaches speeds of 24 knots, and with optional engine upgrades, can reach 30 knots. At cruising speeds, it has a range of 3,900 nautical miles.
