In all the world there is no event more revered by yachting industry professionals than the Monaco Yacht Show. This year, the 24th in the series, more than 100 superyachts between 25 and 90 meters will beckon some 28,000 visitors for a closer look. Of those yachts, 40 will be making their debut in Monaco.
Yacht buyers, builders, designers, brokers, equipment manufacturers, and luxury goods firms will convene in this exquisite principality from Sept. 24-27, 2014, for a round of parties, business, negotiations, and camaraderie that embrace the yachting industry. Sponsored by Ulysse Nardin, the supporting sponsorship list is long and distinguished, including substantial input from Mercedes Benz, Baccarat, Opera Gallery, and Taittinger.
Spread around and about the beautiful docks and piers of Port Hercules, the sight is a spectacular one, but especially so from the hillsides above. The principality of Monaco, in addition to hosting this fabulous event, is also home to a bevy of five-star dining and world class shopping, as well as the glamorous casinos of Monte Carlo.
More than 500 exhibitors will participate in the show this year, with 20,000 sf of exhibit space dedicated to luxurious displays. There are several strategic spots to tuck in for a short rest or business conversation, with delectable snacks and beverages served in typically stylish French environments.
Exceptional motor yachts in the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show lineup include Feadship’s Como, Derecktor’s Cakewalk, Sunseeker’s Blush, Benetti’s Illusion, and Lurssen’s Solandge. Among those under sail will be Royal Huisman’s classic sloop Wisp, Nautor’s Swan Nefertiti, and Perini Navi’s Perseus³. Luxury tenders from Wider, Hogdon, Reversys, and Castoldi will exhibit, along with innovations from Swath, showing the carbon neutral Electra Glide Limousine Tender, and Novamarine’s Black Shiver.
Triton Submarines will share its lightweight submersible, the 1000/3 LP, a smaller version of its previous divers. This low profile version allows a fully enclosed submarine experience to be an additional choice for guests participating in water activities. In addition, the best of everything from aircraft and caviar to clothing and destination resorts will also be on display.
Eighty percent of the guests at the Monaco Yacht Show have traversed international borders to
attend, coming from 38 countries. They come because this is the show of shows, with a focus on superyachts and luxury goods. They also come for the parties, the shopping, the scenery, the food, and the people.
The parties will be glorious and lavish, and the shopping, dining, and gaming in the principality extravagant, but the focus is decidedly on the yachts. While the view of the harbor by day is stunning, evening views are particularly intoxicating. As the sun dims and the lights begin to blink on, the string of floating jewels around the docks become alive with parties, conversations, and music.
A celebration of all things exceptional, the Monaco Yacht Show is the most iconic immersion into the world of yachting.
