Renowned Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo took part in this year’s Dusseldorf Boat Show which was held over the 19th to 27th of January with a brand new booth designed by art director Piero Lissoni. The bold artistic vision for one of the world’s largest boat shows mixed industrial vibes with a simple, light and modern aesthetic. The booth included containers to hint at the vital role played by ship building in our modern world along with luxurious lounge and meeting spaces filled with natural light.
In addition to their new booth design, San Lorenzo chose to show off their innovative 26.7metre SX88 model which incorporates both stunning classic design and cutting-edge practical and technological features. The model is a crossover design which combines elements from fly bridge models and explorer vessels, giving her functionality as well as stunning good looks.
Highlights on board include an abundance of open spaces and large windows to maximise natural light and an upper deck wheelhouse which is protected by a windshield and can easily be enclosed by windows according to the owner’s wishes. Piero Lissoni has designed a version of the SX88 which sees the main deck interior as a single, unified space housing the living area, dining room and an open kitchen which is perfectly suited for casual entertaining.
Playtime is also well-catered for thanks to the vast swimming platform at the stern which is home to the tender and a selection of water toys. This area can easily be converted into a 30 square metre beach club for those who like to enjoy a close connection with the sea. The flexibility of her design means that the SX88 has already proven incredibly popular with yacht owners and Sanlorenzo has already sold 20 units.
