The Island of Love: Cruising Cyprus Onboard Benetti’s “11/11”

The “Island of Love”, as Cyprus is affectionately known by those who fall under her spell, is steeped in ancient legend and incredible natural beauty. This is the place where the Greeks believed their goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite, was born from the foam of the sea. Traces of this gorgeous deity can still be found all over the island today from her mythical birthplace on the divine beach of Petra tou Romiou to the Baths of Aphrodite near the town of Polis where she met her lover Adonis while swimming in the natural pools.

The best way to follow in Aphrodite’s footsteps and fall in love with the island of romance is onboard a luxury superyacht with an experienced crew to tend to your every need and show you the very best of Cyprus. Our favorite choice is the incredibly versatile 63 metre/206.69 foot superyacht “11/11”. Thanks to her child-friendly design she is perfect for a family charter experience, but she also boasts ample entertaining space and a strong selection of water toys to satisfy adventurous souls.

Built by the renowned Italian shipyard Benetti in 2015, this sophisticated yacht is ideal for Mediterranean charters thanks to its elegant exterior lines culminating in a characterful bluff bow and generous homely communal spaces spread across her four decks. Her interior spaces have been tastefully styled by the owner’s personal design team in an enchanting neutral color palette accented with unique artworks by leading tastemakers like Tracy Emin and Hans Kotter. One standout piece beloved by kids and adults alike is Dominic Harris’ interactive butterflies in the main saloon which flutter if you touch them.

In total 11/11 can accommodate up to 12 guests with two double and two twin suites located on the lower deck, a VIP suite on the main deck and the owner’s cabin on the upper deck. The guest suites all boast the same elegant design found throughout the boat with Italian marble bathrooms and luxurious soft furnishings. Lucky guests who get to stay in the VIP suite can enjoy a private study, dressing room and vast windows which help to create a gloriously light and airy space, while the owner’s cabin boasts its own private deck area and spa pool on the foredeck.

Other al fresco highlights include her cosy sun deck which features a second pool surrounded by pads and ample lounge seating for lazy afternoons spent basking in the warm glow of Cypriot sun. There’s also an Italian marble bar here which makes it the ideal spot for enjoying an aperitif before heading inside to the graceful dining room for a delicious dinner made with the freshest island ingredients by her talented chef.
