Welcome to Paradise: Cruising Tahiti Onboard 196ft Superyacht Dream

The largest island in French Polynesia, Tahiti has a deserved reputation for being a true paradise on earth thanks to her soft white sand beaches, inviting azure waters and inspiring French fusion cuisine. What many first-time visitors don’t realise, though, is the sheer size and scale of this island group which is composed of 118 islands spread out over 1,200 miles/2000 km of ocean. The best way to experience the sheer variety and beauty of Tahiti and her sister islands is onboard a large superyacht like the 196 foot/60 metre Dream which combines the comforts of a luxury hotel with serious cruising capabilities.

Fresh from a 2017 refit, this remarkable Abeking & Rasmussen has everything you’ll need for a blissed out Pacific Island charter experience. Starting from the outside, where you’ll no doubt be spending most of your time gazing out over the calm tropical waters, Dream boasts a muscular Donald Starkey exterior design which exudes sophistication and class. Highlights here include the smart sundeck with ample seating and a secluded Jacuzzi on the upper deck perfect for watching the sun go down as you sip a glass of Champagne.

There’s also dedicated relaxation room if you feel like winding down with a yoga session or massage after a long day relaxing on the idyllic beaches of Bora Bora or Moorea. If you’re cruising with family, kids and teenagers are taken care of with the vast selection of water toys and the epic water slide which should keep your little ones (and not so little ones) entertained for hours.

When you do head inside to take a well-deserved nap or rest up with a movie or two, you’ll be enchanted by the stylish interior decor which was styled by London-based Bannenberg & Rowell studio. What’s really remarkable here is the amount of space and the clever design of the numerous communal areas which make Dream feel more like a chic floating villa than a yacht. A neat feature here is the inviting sun lounge which converts into your very own cinema complete with big screen and blackout curtains.

After dining al fresco on delicious tropical produce and fresh local fish, it’s time to enjoy one last nightcap as the lapping warm waters prepare you for a great night’s sleep. Dream has a total of seven guest suites which can accommodate up to 12 overnight guests. She also carries 15 crew members to ensure that every member of your party is pampered and looked after from the moment they step aboard. After all, as her name suggests, cruising gorgeous Pacific Islands onboard this magnificent superyacht is nothing short of a dream.

Dream is available to charter in French Polynesia and other select South Pacific destinations from $441,000 (€378,000) per week plus expenses.
